Whelp, looks like ol' lj is stabilized again for awhile. So lets take a look at yesterday's comics pulls...

Which were more then expected. Partly because Avengers Academy was a week late. In this issue Veil ends up crossing a personal line. Which is crazy well done. The fight between loser-villain possessed by a loser-godling from the Big Event crossover and Pym is a bit clumsier. Really, I don't care how many characters and nameless citizens they kill to push them, I can't take Evil Fear Hammer Space Snake things at all seriously. They're just a pack of losers whose big plan is to empower a bunch of other losers (plus the Hulk I guess) and then team with Nazis. Because nothing guarantees a comic book baddies ultimate victory like teaming with Nazis...

Also this week the second issue of the current Criminal arc, "The Last of the Innocent". Which is a murder plot combined with that What If Archie Married Veronica issue. Which is pretty damn good...

Invincible is basically about fall-out from the destruction of Las Vegas last issue. With Mark struggling to wonder if the whole See a Cape, Punch a Cape is really the right way to go about making the world better...

I'm not sure when after the 52-rollout I can expect Xombi again. So I'll just try to enjoy this one with its flying cities pterodactyl mounted commando raids...

And lastly Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill deliver another LoEG chapter with The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Century: 1969. Which is Mina, Quartermain and Orlando in London of '69 working against an evil wizard. No really. Most of the references for this fly right past me. Except for Micheal Caine's hardman crook Carter. Who plays a fairly major role. Also I think Kevin O'Neill's art style is starting to wear thin for me...
