First pull list of the new year is a fairly light one. Only three books this week so I ended up splurging and getting the 1st volume Little, Brown Books for Young Readers' The Adventures of Tintin. Which, as one of the cornerstones for Eurpeon comics, is something I've long been meaning to check out...

From the Wednesday pulls the first book is a new iZombie which has nerds playing something like D&D and Horatio and Gwen spend their first date at the local minigolf...

The inaccurately titled 2nd issue of the Black Hands 2010 Special also arrives. And with some bribery Weird Pete is elected as the Black Hands GM. Who finds himself struggling to fufill the promises he's made of running the Greatest Cattlepunk Campaign Ever...

Lastly is The Thanos Imperative: Devastation one-shot. Which serves as both a coda to Nova, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Thanos Imperative. And a prequel to upcoming ongoing cosmic Abnett/Lanning book The Annihilators. Which makes me happy to see that Cosmic Marvel isn't being abandonded and that the book will feature a back-up following the adventures of Rocket Raccoon and Groot...

I was more than pleasantly surprised at how funny a movie starring Slyvester Stallone as a Prohibition-era mob boss trying to go straight could be. It had a real old-school Marx Brothers classic comedy feel to it. Chaz Palmeterri's dim bulb goomba is a real stand-out as well. But really, Stallone shows some truly good comedy chops here...
