New Comics Day 4/14/10
Apr. 14th, 2010 05:40 pmDecided to pick up Conor McCreery & Anthony Del Col's Kill Shakespeare. First issue introduces Hamlet, who after being exiled from Denmark for Polonius' murder, is recruited by King Richard III to deal with the evil magician William Shakespeare. The book advertises itself as having all of Shakespeare's characters in a sort of Fables/LoEG-esque story...
In Secret Six William "Catman" Blake makes a very dark decision about the demands of the people who've kidnapped his and Cheshire's child. And apparantly this book does take place after Lian's death in Cry for Justice...
The Unwritten takes a break from Tommy and his friends to visit a pseudo-Hundred Acre Woods. And an angry, desperate rabbit...
There isn't much new to say about daytripper. Art is still gorgeous, the brief story is still moving, touching and sad...
Fables returns to the Farm where things left off. With the vengeful Blue Fairy seeking to kill Gepetto. But first Pinnochio wants his own pound of fairy flesh. But the issue also begins a Rose Red story arc. Props alsoto cover artist Joao Ruas whose work here matches some of the best James Jean did...
I've got to say, Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers Unleashed features the tubbiest looking Thor I've seen anyone draw. Though I like how the Odinson names Thunder-Frog as a brother equal to Beta Ray Bill. Plus Yeti fight!
In Savage Dragon the reborn Emporer Kurr prepares to face all the Viscious Circle members empowered with his blood. Plus his kids. And that Flash Mercury guy. And some shape-shifter who looks a bit like She-Dragon. Oh and a J.Jonah homage in a giant suit of battle armor...
