lurkerwithout: (Book on bed)
Mar 7th: Alexandre Dumas - The Three Musketeers: One of those classics I'd always meant to get to reading. So I was glad to grab this off the clearance rack at 1/2 Price. Turns out D'Artagnan and his friends are kind of assholes...

Mar 9th: Raymond E. Feist - Magician: Apprentice: And after that I was just in a mood to reread Feist's Midkemian series from the beginning. Here we have the start for Pug and Thomas and the invasion of the Kingdom of the Isles by the Tsurani...

Which sends his son Aleksander fleeing into the night in walking war machine with several loyal family retainers. At the same time a training mishap has girl-disguised-as-a-boy Deryn taken aboard as the newest junior crewman of the Leviathan, one of Britain's flying bio-engineered living airships...

Mar 14th: Feist - A Darkness at Sethanon: Prince Arutha and his companions go forth in secret to deal with the dark elf war lord Murmandas. And Pug and Thomas (now Dragon Lord and the elven war leader) travel off-world to find the mysterious sorcerer Macros the Black, as they sense they'll need his aid against the dark forces behind Murmandas...

Mar 17th - P.N. Elrod (ed.) - Strange Brew: Centered around stories about modern spell-slinging and potion-brewing witches this anthology was the first of these in awhile where I liked the majority of the stories enough to keep it...

Mar 19th: Feist - Shadows of a Dark Queen: Young Erik is the unacknowledged elder son of Baron VonDarkmoor though he just wants to be a simple village smith. But when he murders his brutal half-brother Stefan Erik and his friend Rupert flee the duchy. This leads to their capture, trial and drafting into a secret army unit. One meant for a return to the lands of Novindus...

Mar 20th: Feist - Rise of a Merchant Prince: The Serpentwar continues with the newly pardoned Rupert Avery seeking to become one of the Kingdom's richest men. Erik though rejoins the army to help prepare for the coming threat of hordes of the Emerald Queen...

Mar 29th: Timothy Zahn - Night Train to Rigel: This futuristic piece of espionage takes a good while to really get moving.
