Mage: The Ascension
So this week by popular acclaim (which means 1 more vote than any other choice) is for Mage: the Ascension. I'll be rebuilding one of my older character concepts that I never got a chance to try out. Though he did end up becoming a background NPC for my MSH campaign setting...
Anyway I'll be recreating Justin Tyme; Son of Ether, Explorer, Hero and would be Time Traveler. First up is his Essence or the "personality" for his Avatar. I'll go with Questing. Next is Nature and Demeanor. Looking over the main book I'll take Avant-Garde for Nature and Visionary for Demeanor...
Next are Attributes. From the previous World of Darkness characters hopefully everyone is familiar with the basic set-up now. Lets go Mental Primary, Physical Secondary and Social Tertiary. So Strength: 2, Dexterity: 3, Stamina: 3. Charisma, Manipulation and Appearance all at 2. And Perception: 3, Intelligence: 3 and Wits: 4 (Sharp)...
For Abilities Knowledge 1st, Skills 2nd and Talents 3rd. For Talents, Athletics: 2, Awareness: 3, Brawl: 1, Intuition: 1. Next Skills, Drive: 3, Research: 3, Technology: 3. And last Knowledges, Cosmology: 3, Enigmas: 3, Investigation: 2, Science: 5 (Quantum Theory)...
For his Backgrounds I'll give him a Destiny of 3 and an Avatar of 2. He also starts with an Arete of 1, Willpower of 5, Quintessence of 2 and Paradox of 0. Lastly I'll put all 3 starting Spheres into Time...
Since a Spheres Rank can't exceed Arete, I'll have to spend 8 of his 15 freebie points on Arete, bumping it up to 3. Then 5 of the remaining to bump his Charisma to 3. And the last 2 to grab a dot in Stealth...
Justin will dress and use foci that give him a somewhat Steampunk look. Just with more of a Flash Gordon influence. His main focus is an over-sized pocket watch. He also drives a 50's Ford Fairlane...

Charley Varrick
Charley (Walter Matthieu) leads a bank robbery of a small town bank in New Mexico. But when the surviving robbers count the money they find over 3/4 of a million dollars, with the bank claiming they only made off with less than 2 grand. Charley soon realizes that they lucked into hitting the back when it was serving as a drop for a Mob money laundering. And so he has to figure out a way to be safe from both the police and the Mafia...
Matthieu is great in this as the crop duster turned thief. Watching as he sets everything up for his disappearing act is a treat. As is Joe Don Baker as Molly, the specialist the Mob brings in to track down the thieves. I do wonder about how easily some of the women jump into bed with people in this...
