Got to the comics shop today but they were sold out of this week's Wednesday Comics. And I hadn't got around to adding it to my subscription box until this week. Oh well...

This week also has the wrap-up for the "I Against I" arc of FEAR Agent, with Heath going to the heart of the Dressenite Empire to rescue his daughter and bring an end to the Human/Dressenite war once and for all...

And Marvel wraps up two mini-series. First Marvel Zombies 4 where the Midnight Suns and the Hood struggle to stop both the zombie Hunger Virus, now in cloud form AND Dread Dormammu from taking control of it for his own humanity destroying purposes. War of Kings: Ascension also draws to a close with Darkhawk barely escaping the wrath of Gladiator to go up against Talon and keep his plans for reviving the Fraternity of Raptors from happening...

Proof has a sad post-script to the "Spring-Heel Jack" story arc with Proof and his friends tracking the "ape-woman" Julia and her husband to Russia...

And finally Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam! has both a jail break by Dr. Sivana AND a brawl between immortal conqueror King Kull (not the Conan one) and Captain Marvel...

Both the Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer rpgs use Eden Studio's Unisystem, a point buy system. The book has 3 power levels of characters to start Investigator (mostly normal person), Champion (experienced character) and Veteran (Slayer, super-soldier, etc). We'll go with a Champion level character, which would be equal to Gunn or Groosalugg...

Thomas Critias is a former Watcher who has moved to (Campaign City) to retire and open a book store. Of course he's got other reasons for both leaving the Watchers and for being here...

Starting Attributes are Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Perception and Willpower. Champion's start with 20 Attribute points. We'll spread them out evenly, putting 3 (average human)in everything and bumping Perception to 5...

Next is Qualities (good things) and Drawbacks. Champion's get 20 points in Qualities and can take up to 10 points in Drawbacks. Drawback earned points can be then spent on more Qualities or on Skills...

Ex-Watcher is 5 points and also gives a +1 to a Physical Attribute and 2 levels of the Getting Medieval Skill. It also gives a +2 to any roll to learn about a supernatural skill thanks to all that time in the Watcher's libraries. We'll bump up Constitution to 4...

We'll also buy him an Impressive Occult Library for 3 pts that gives a bonus to ID monsters and can have d10+50 spells that can be researched from it. Nerves of Steel for 3 makes him hard to scare. He still has a fat bankroll from somewhere with a Resources at Wealthy for 3 pts. He has Situational Awareness for 2 pts to improve his already good Perception checks. And finally 2 levels of Resistance vs. both Paranormal abilities and Pain...

Drawback-wise Thomas suffers from Emotional Problems, depression that he treats with meds (so only worth 1 pt), he has a 2 pt Adversary in the area, a 10-year old son at a local private school (2 pts), suffers Recurring Nightmares (1 pt) and of course he has a Secret. Only a 2 pt one, so it could get him arrested or deported if found out...

For Skills Champion's start with 30, plus Thomas has 8 points from those Drawbacks and 2 bonus levels in Getting Medieval already. So with all those points we'll take Getting Medieval to 4, Crime at 2, Computers, Driving and Science at minimal levels of 1, Gun Fu and Kung Fu (which is all unarmed brawling not the specific martial art) at 3, Influence and Crime at 2, Languages at 5 (for 5 known) and Knowledge at 5. Then Occultism at 6 and Notice at 7...

The character also starts with 10 Drama Points, which can be spent to give the character a one-time bonus at something. And finally his Con of 4 and Str of 3 gives him 42 starting Life points...
