Tostitos Scoops w/ a hint of jalapeno are fucking TERRIBLE. Why would you do that to me Frito Lay? I've already got Tostitos brand salsa. Thats already jalapeno + stuff. Why would I want more? Did you test the two things together? Because they don't work! Did you think I wouldn't be using scoop shaped corn chips with salsa? Seriously you guys this is a bad product and you should all feel shame at making it...

New Comcis Day 1/7/09
Jan. 7th, 2009 10:35 pmWell I'd planned on doing this earlier, but LJ was down and then I went to a movie. But without further delays, this week's comics. Plus some stuff I'd missed on previous weeks. Starting with a new Secret Six. Which has a cover thats part of DC's month long "Faces of Evil" theme. Which is pretty silly for a book where ALL the characters are technically bad guys. Anyway the issue shows how the Sixers survive the poisoning and ambush at the dinner. And leaves me wondering, why does Gail Simone hate Cheshire? I mean she not only goes down like a punk. Again. But she begs afterwards. This is a woman who blew up a country once. Just seems odd to me. Also, we learn who Junior is. And many people's suspicions about the psycho being related to the Ragdoll's is confirmed, though not in the way any of us was expecting...
Managed to find issue #3 of Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam! Apparantly it was shelved with all the other kids comics. Who could have guessed. Anyway Mike Kunkel's version of Black Adam is visually great. And both Cap and Mary beat up on monsters. Thats always a good thing...
And we've got The Winter Men: Winter Special, which draws a conclusion to the long, long, LONG delayed mini-series. For those unfamiliar, the Winter Men is the name for the various Soviet super-humans. Including the lead, a police detective and his three friends (a professional soldier, a Mafiya leader and a bodyguard). All of whom are the last survivors of the Soviet power-armor unit. What was great about this series was that it tried to take a realistic look at politics and life in the generally vastly corrupt Russia. Great series, and since I don't own the original four issues, hopefully there will soon be a trade...
Buffy the Vampire Slayer gives us a story about Harmony. Who gets caught by T.M.Z. making a snack out of Andy Dick (sadly he lives) and becomes a minor celebrity with a low-end MTV reality show. And then she gets in a fight with a rookie Slayer on camera...
Grabbed the Secret Invasion/War of Kings one-shot. Which has the Inhumans leaving the moon to hunt down the last of the Skrull fleet and then pay a visit on the Kree. Which sets up the next space Event cross-over, which looks to be the Kree/Shi'ar War II. Emperor Vulcan seems smug about it, but really Black Bolt and his crazy brother Maximus working TOGETHER on something? Oh man, should he be worried...
Marvel Zombies 3 comes to a close with lots of robot on zombie violence. And that should be the last time I feel the need to buy anything Marvel Zombie related. Yep. Because..MZ4? Oh c'mon! What the hell is that..Morbius creating a cross-dimensional zombie hunting team of Damien "Son of Satan" Hellstorm, Jack "Werewolf-by-Night" Russel, Man-Thing and a woman I don't recognize as a returned Midnight Sons? Damn you Marvel! DAMN YOU!
And we finish up with Wolverine/Power Pack and a nice tale of Jack Power and Franklin Richards going back in time a hundred years and saving some wimpy kid named James Howlett. Now where do I know that name from? Oh RIGHT, check the book's title...
