New Comics Day 6/11
Jun. 11th, 2008 08:57 pmMan, what a long day. But comics are finally read. Well, except for the new minx book I got. And the first Starman Omnibus that finally arrived. And that indy book Brandon recomended for me. But my weekly pulls. THOSE are done...
Starting with Invincible's fiftieth issue. With Mark tendering his resignation to Cecil. And back-ups with Brit and Science Dog. Science Dog is pretty damn cool. I mean its a talking dog with a jet pack. Thats just awesome...
Then its Jack Staff with two main stories. Jack and his newest ally, The Butler, face Shock, Master of Electricity! All the while Jack Staff is still wanted for crimes he didn't commit. AND he has to do his taxes. And then the other story has ex-hunter turned vampire Albert Bramble fighting his son the vampire hunter. Who is aided by Becky Burdock Vampire Reporter. Grist is a fucking genius, swear to Tod...
Also got that 1st issue of Firebreather I missed from a few weeks back. With Duncan and his dad having a chat about Duncan's future. A chat which involves attack robots and punching...
Then we've got more of The Last Defenders. With Kyle dealing with the results of starting an unauthorized super-hero team. And then he disses Tony. I love when people talk smack to Tony the Dick. And its got to sting. Spider-man, Captain America, Nova, Namor and even Brother Voodoo. Thats one thing. But to have your bullshit called by freakin' NIGHTHAWK? Ouch...
Angel: After the Fall finishes its origins story with Gwen, Gunn and some possible prophet. Sadly it does so with some truly terrible fucking art...
Next we've got more FEAR Agent. Where a Tetaldan agent steals Heath's kid, Heath and his ex have a fight and then he goes off to travel in time. Again...
B.P.R.D. War on Frogs revisits Cavendish Manor from the first Hellboy story arc. Though since Abe has apparently decided to quit field work, its up to Roger the Homunculus to go for a swim and find out whatever happened to the Cavendish lads...
And lastly 100 Bullets continues its rush to the end. With some reprucussions from Loop's attempted hit on Cole. And Pippen learning about the price of failure. Also Augustus and one of his Trust "allies" have a phone chat that doesn't go well...
