New Comics Day

And now, since work is deadly, deadly dull, we get to zee comics. None of my reorders came in this week. Or the Cover Girl trade I want. And I found that they forgot to order the second issue of Special Forces. But its ok, my budget's pretty damn tight. And that meant I could buy chicken later. Mmmmm. Grease chicken...

Anyhow, back to comics! Starting with the next issue of Annihilation: Conquest. Where things look bad for Moondragon. But somewhat better for Ronan, Wraith and their group. But then bad again for Starlord and his commando team...

Then we've got the next Metal Men. With the Doc and his brother discussing the ancient threat that looks to co-opt the Metal Men. And that threat destroying the Metal Men in another part of time. AND in yet ANOTHER part of time the Metal Men and a robot-duplicate T.O. Morrow inhabited by the U.N.I.O.N. AI attempt to break into the Magna-Tech main offices. Alchemy + Mad Super Science + Time Travel = AWESOME...

Next we watch as Scatterbrain and Myriad of the Dynamo5 are forced by their half-siblings to work out their problems from when Myriad was impersonating Gage. Oh and Visionary's mom has a meeting with Maddie. Plus a rampaging robot gets smacked around...

Over on Buffy the Vampire Slayer Buff and Willow go consult with a demonic oracle about the Twillight group. And Xander has a talk with Dawn about why she's cursed with being Big...

After that the Lobster Johnson mini finishes up with a good ol' fashioned fight against Nazi agents. Nothing better than pulp heroes vs. Nazis...

And we finish with a new Knights of the Dinner Table. Pete, Stevil, Brian, Newt and Gordo finish testing out the starship battle/racing game. And as always Brian figures out a way to come out ahead. And then the Untouchable Trio have a meeting to discuss strategy for surviving their next game session in the Temple of Horrendous Doom. Plus the regular collection of articles and mini-strips, including spoonyone's Gamer's Rant on The Last Starfighter...

Debating with a Fool?

Mad Thinker Scott is experimenting with less buggy blogging fomats, right now vox and blogspot. But why are you telling us this Lurker? You don't even like Scott. Weeeeeeell...

A couple reasons. 1) Scott irritates me, but its because he disagrees with me AND is fairly pompous and long-winded. But I've been unfairly lumping him in with the "anti-feminist" clique I think. I should be able to disagree with how someone interpets something without discarding any ideas they might have. Debate is good. I mean just because he doesn't support the general consenus doesn't mean I should have been adding him in with the "martyrs" and others that orbit near him...

2) Yes, Scott can be prickly and attention seeking. So what. He's a blogger just like the rest of us. If we weren't all whores for attention we'd lock everything to private or just write it down on paper. We ALL want attention. And we ALL can overreact to percieved slights and insults. Or actual slights and insults. Which is also why I'm making Scott unbant. Ok, so he tends to write mini-blog posts when responding. Enh, I've done the same when with less provocation...

3) His initial post on both is interesting. Both in seeing the difference between when he's trying to break down "comics feminist" arguements and when he's discussing, the more obviously personel to him, issues of gay rights...

4) He's trying to educate and debate the (Ir)Rational Madman-boy. He's hardly the first but I always wonder why people bother. RMM is a frothing, hate-filled loony if ever there was one. But still more power to Scott and anyone else who tries. Theres always the chance that trainwreck gawkers like myself or others will learn something when we watch RMM gibber and fury over the imagined slights and conspiracies out to destroy the Straight, White Male World...

Musings

So a lot of people say a bunch of stupid shit. But I'm finding that if you just keep nodding your head at them in a polite, non-committal way they'll fall into a deep, deep slumber. Than you can search their pockets for money to buy cake. So everyone has a use!
