Ultimate Twin-cest
Dec. 14th, 2007 08:45 pmThe newest volume of Marvel's Ultimates is getting wide-spread mockery. And deservedly so as its total shit. Jeph Loeb's writing hits a new low and Madureira's art reaches a new pinnacle of muddy deformity. And thats not all bad. I mean it gives some the incentive to create parodies like Gavok of 4th Letter. And of course one of the things getting mocked is the "revelation" of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch having a "special" relationship...
Now me I've got to ask. Is there anywhere else in the Ultimate Marvel-verse where this is mentioned? Because otherwise I'd say just dismiss the whole thing as a bad fan-fic by Loeb. I mean unless she was just trying to make her brother jealous, Wanda HAS been shown in the past to be interested in others. 1st with Scott when he was infiltrating Magneto's group. And then briefly when introduced to Pym's androids, hinting at the Ultimate version of the Wanda/Vision relationship. And Pietro's attitudes have ALWAYS been pretty close to the over-controlling and over-protective brother that matches the 616 version up until he hooks up with Crystal...
So yeah, I'd say this is Loeb just pulling something out of nowhere, thinking it will add drama to the comic and then pathos to Wanda's pointless death at the end of the issue...
