New Comics Day
Oct. 17th, 2007 06:18 pmAnd even after dropping two titles from my pull list, it was still a larger than expected week. We'll start with a new Knights of the Dinner Table. Where Weird Pete and Stevil may finally have found a WoH MMORPG group to roll with, B.A. manages to railroad the group into the dungeon and we check in at Hard Eight. Plus a rant on Transformers, lots of Aces & Eights and HackMaster articles and some nice maps...
Then we go with Army@Love with plotting Koreans, seductive Mongrollian horsemen, spell slinging circus monkeys and married people sex...
Next its a new Ex Machina with a flashback to Hundred's "super-villain" and the reason he was called to Rome. Plus some crazy Russians...
And Suburban Glamour finally arrives. So pretty. Jamie McKelvie's art looks even better here than it did in Phonogram. Credit is definitely due to colorist Guy Major. And its got the start of what looks to be a cool, quirky story about magic amidst bored suburban teens...
The Programme slowly reveals more of the secrets of the Russian and American Supers. And Agent Hinks has a bad day...
Then we get the 2nd issue of The Umbrella Academy with a funeral for a departed father, killer robots, time travel and an evil orchestra of DOOOOOOOOOOM...
DMZ reintroduces would be suicide bomber Amina for its current arc about life in the Big City at War...
And we finish up with a new Fables, where new King Ambrose sends a messenger to the Emperor, exiling a few people and getting a delivery from Fabletown...
