New Comics Day

Delayed a bit thanks to the Game That Will Be Forgotten. And a fairly heavy week (though I forgot I wanted to grab the first couple issues of Dynamo 5). Grabbed the wonderfull Dark Moon Rising: Batman and the Mad Monk trade as well as Annihilation vol 2. This second volume follows Silver Surfer and the other Heralds, Thanos, Super-Skrull, Ronan the Accuser and Gamora in the early months of the Annihilation Wave War. Not quite as awesome as the first volume, its still chock-full of Cosmic Beatdowns and heavy duty action sequences...

Off the pull list got the 2nd issue of Army@Love with more mixing of sex & violence, as well as plenty of expository back-story...

Then its the delayed Fell from last week. Where our detective hero enjoys a typical night on duty in Snowtown...

After that we get a new Invincible where Team A goes up against the Sequids and Martians. And Team B takes on the Lizard League...

And then its a new Ex Machina where the Mayor seems to have lost his powers while a time traveller causes a black-out...

And finally the start of a new arc over on DMZ, where Mattie gets to interview a unit of American soldiers on trial for war crimes...

Lonesome Dove

Looooooooooooong. And yet there is still a mess of stuff cut from the book. Especially backstory and motivation for many of the characters. Plus it lacked the Great Bull vs. Bear fight. Still, for fans of the Western genre, well worth taking the time to watch. Though I split the two 3 hour discs over different nights. Because its really, really long. Really...
