Is...ok. Overly melodramatic at times. Well most of the movie. And some overly done montage sequences. And at least one really badly done sequence of freeze frames. Plus it has Kirk Douglas playing brothers. But the leads are likeable enough. Even when deliverying some pretty heavy-handed dialogue. Meh. I've seen worse, but also definately much, much better. Hell just limiting it to Australian Western I've seen better...

Aaron is one of four Mormon missionaries who've moved into an apartment complex in L.A. And one of their neighbors is Christian, waiter and gay party boy. Which isn't very helpful to Aaron's need to deny his own sexuality. The first half of the movie where Aaron and Christian come to terms with who they are before getting together actually feels slightly rushed. Still the basketball game sequence is almost worth it alone to watch the movie. In the second half Aaron is forced to confront the attitudes of his church and family, while Christian attempts to deal with being in actual love and not being able to find that person...

The sex in the movie is fairly graphically shot JUST off center. The storyline, while nothing terribly new, does the job it needs. And it even adds a few semi-mystical fate/destiny moments. Plus the actors all do a wonderful job, making even secondary characters believable. Definately worth a watch...

So I see WWE is wheeling out their next attempt at Wrestler to Movie Star. This time using Stone Cold Steve Austin. Which has a few things going for it. He's basically just doing the character he's BEEN doing for the last decade it looks like. And he's had SOME acting experiance outside the wrestling ring prior to this. Which means it is guarenteed to be less stupid than The Marine. Not that thats a high bar to aim for. Still its got Vinnie Jones as well. So I'll probably leave it on if I came across while flipping the channels...
