I'm thinking of dropping Powers. Not because I have anything against Bendis (though I would like to slap him around for a bit for his contributions for the last couple years of Marvel idiocy). But because I'm getting bored with seeing super-humans kill each other. How are there any super-heroes LEFT in his city?

IDW starts the next Transformers story arc with Transformers: Escalation. Megatron plans, Optimus stratagizes and some cabal of humans gets ready to make their play to become involved...

Over on the new Savage Dragon you get a fight between SuperMan and Galactus. No really, thats pretty much what it is. Crazy SuperMan parody dukes it out with Kirby-style Galactus homage. Plus a Deadly Duo back-up and some more Comic Bits.

And with a new Loveless stuff happens. I can't really say what since the art is so damned dark, mushy and out of focus I can't fucking tell what the hell is going on. And it makes my head hurt too much to try and read the dialogue. Are these new characters? Which parts are flashbacks? I can't tell thats for damn sure...

I also snagged The Dark Horse Book of Monsters. Its got a werewolf story and a Frankenstein story and a sea monster story and from-the-depths-of-the-earth story. And a witch one that really doesn't fit the theme very well, but is still good. Mike Mignola, Evan Dorkin and Kurt Busiek among others doing the writing...

And given it being New Comics Day, another non-super hero comic

A science-fiction story of failed space programs, broken dreams and first contact. Its short, sweet and hits it out of the park...

$13 from Amazon or $11 from Mile High Comics
