New Comics Day: The Return
Nov. 17th, 2006 03:41 pmWent back to the comics shop to pick up some of the back issues for the new titles I added to my pull list. Plus the latest Squadron Supreme which got left off my pull this week. This time around we've got a rematch fight between Hyperion and Redstone. Where ol' Red reminds Hyperion why he's such a dangerous psycho. At least until Princess Power saves the day...
I also grabbed the first trade for DMZ as well as the last three issues. Haven't had a chance to do more than glance at them yet though. The title seems to be about a 2nd American Civil War, with the DMZ in this case being Manhatten Island. Looks good...
Lets see, next are issues 11 and 12 of Jack Staff. Which is some crazy shit involving German super-men, Moorcock-style champions, big robots and Wise Old Mentor's who are also Alan Moore...
Then we've got The Damned which is gangster noir story. With demon mobsters and a cursed protaganist. Whats not to love?
And finally is Phonogram. Though I could only find the first and third issue. Its music sub-cultures + magic. Kind of like if Questionable Content and Hellblazer had a bastard love child...
