New Comics Day
May. 24th, 2006 05:07 pmSo while picking up my normal pull list I saw that Moonstone is putting out a Buckaroo Banzai mini-series. Art is ok. And it features both Dr. Lazardo and the Lectroids AND the World Crime Syndicate. But the its very wordy. And that wordiness is mostly used for exposition it seems like. I'll probably pick up the other two issues, but I don't know if I'd recomend it for anyone who isn't a fan of the movie...
Going over to my lone remaining Big Two title, Squadron Supreme, things FINALLY start to pick back up again. Still not as great as some of the previous MAX issues, but getting better at least...
Loveless is mostly flashbacks as Ruth wanders in the woods. Very nice cover though...
Over on Powers they wrap up the current story arc and set things up for the next one. Which looks to be Walker and Deena dealing with their new secret identity stuff...
And last up is the next PvP. Has a cool Calvin & Hobbes homage cover and some good strips. Though I think adding in one that was nothing more than a response to some webcomics drama was a bit pointless. I enjoy Kurtz's humor most of the time, but he can totally be an ass who can't let go of a meaningless grudge...
Oh yeah, and I decided to start grabbing Strangers in Paradise, so I grabbed the book that collects volumes 1 and 2. SoP was always one of the titles I meant to start collecting after I finished buying the trades for some other titles...
