Entitlement
Feb. 14th, 2006 01:18 amThis comes up more often at the Scottsdale hotel. The way that the guests feel that they're owed things. Rides, extra bedding (generally hours after housekeeping has gone home for the night), food deliveries, directory assistance and who knows what else. And management and sales and corporate all encourage this. If a guest complains about something, no matter what it is, try to solve it. Because thats what is needed to ensure repeat business nowadays. Beyond just "the customer is always right". But "the customer is visiting royalty whose every need must be met"...
It just bothers me that society has to come to this. And visiting foreign guests can be just as bad, so its not just an American thing. There are times when you just want to yell at the whiny bastards. Scream really. "Suck it up and cope you pissy little fuck!"
