Thieves' World
Jan. 24th, 2006 06:50 amSo I recently picked up Sanctuary, which restarted the Thieves' World series. And after finishing it, I decided to go and reread the original anthologies again. I'd forgotten some of the big name scifi/fantasy writers who signed on for it. Philip Jose Farmer, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Poul Anderson and Joe Haldeman among others. And that they almost had Roger Zelazny, until he had to back out. Man, that would have been pretty amazing. I mean Zelazny created one of my favorite fiction characters for another shared world series (Croyd "The Sleeper" Crenson from Wild Cards)...
Also my copy of book 1 has both Robert Asprin and Lynn Abbey's signitures in it, which I'd either never noticed or had forgotten. Which is always a nice score for a book I probably grabbed of the general paperback section of Bookman's or someplace...
