Saturday Games
Nov. 6th, 2005 11:46 amWhelp, the Dan/Jane HackMaster game officially came to an end. Dan's leaving next week to start working in Kansas, and Jane will be following, probably as soon as their house closes (and yes they are moving to Lincoln, KS of all places). Our group managed to eventually (and mostly by finally setting the damned traps off manually) open the ancestrol dwarven tomb. And since it was his family member, we let Dave's dwarf keep the high-end magic items there in. The rest of us made out ok, between the magic items we'd found in an earlier basilisk lair and the several suits of dwarven steel full plate...
After that I headed to Mesa to hook up with Spoony, Miles and Brendan. We had planned on playing HackMaster at the Games Den, but Spoony had gotten the closing time wrong. So we played this neat tile game called M for about an hour then headed over to Brendan's...
There I finished running the guys thru the werewolf encounter. Brendan's battle-mage managed to critically fumble an attempt to climb a tree, which was funny. And Spoony's fighter nailed the werewolf with called shut to the twig and berries. Which he got a crit for. Level 11 to the nutsac. Poor wee beastie...
After that the group managed to finally get to the major city of Qeynos. There they split up a bit running individual errands and collecting plot hooks. Brendan's Harlan connected with a female wizard at their Guild and managed to make an enemy of the temple of Pholtus when delivering the werewolf's head (he was originally one of their missionaries). Miles' Kendall priced repairing his magic armor (more than he wants to spend, but I dangled a plot hook to a side quest that would reduce the cost) and jumped by some Thieves' Guild thugs. And Goldie got her armor repaired, bought some finery and recieved an invite for the group to dine with city/country leader...
And they finally decided on a group name, the Band of Gold...
Next week should be CoC...
