The giving and recieving of recomendations

Ok. So we're both members of an internet forum/community/mailing list/cult. And over the years we've both managed to establish that we have some similar tastes. Movies/shows/books/games you've like, I've liked. Stuff I've disliked, you've disliked. Sure not everything meshes, but enough so I at least feel that your taste in the field of entertainment is worth listening to.

So when I mention a newish show that I'm hooked on, and HIGHLY recomend it, maybe you shouldn't just say you saw the commercials and feel its too stupid for you. Maybe you should trust that our tastes are similar enough to TRY THE SHOW OUT FIRST. And then if you still don't like it, fine. People have different tastes. But don't shit all over my opinion without even sampling the product...

New Comics Day

And its an all DC pull list this week. First up being the two Winnicks-too-busy-with-his-cartoon filler issues...

Outsiders finishes up its two-part retro-story. Its badly scripted, poorly drawn and painfully dialogued filler two-parter. Just a substandard issue all around...

The Green Arrow fill in is marginally better, involving Green Arrow and Solomon Grundy. The art's ok, being the adequete Battle and not Fowler. But it adds nothing new to either character, though it seems to attempt to put some grand doomed nobility into Grundy. *shrug* Just makes me miss the Robinson's Grundy in Starman...

Then its the latest issue of Villians United. Which is still pretty fluff. I like Catman. And I've always enjoyed seeing Deadshot. But nothings going to come from this. Any real changes in the status quo are only going to last unti the Infinite Crisis mega-crossover. *doublesigh* Plus the new "gangster" Royal Flush Gang? Super lame...

100 Bullets manages to wrap up one story arc, add a twist or two to the others and just keep you guessing again and again...
