New Comics Day

Only two pulls this week, so I also grabbed a Hellboy trade. The Right Hand of Doom. I especially like the "Pancakes" story that opens the collection.

First pull is the new Fables. And is this the Adversary at last? Don't be stupid, of course its not. Lets say you've spent CENTURIES conquering the vast lands of the Homelands. Now are you going to spend your day off listening to the petty bitching of people rich enough to bribe your underlings? Of course not. You're going to have some big, spooky construct built, have people SAY its you and then you go off and take a nap or fish or torture a leprechaun or something.

Next we've got a new Green Arrow. And the good part is that the art is Battle again. The bad part is its written by some James Peaty guy. Who? No idea. But his story (involving a GA/Anarky team-up) is ok, but written like shit. Heavy handed narrative boxes and weak dialogue. Bah. I buy this book because of Winnick. This better be a temporary break...
