New Comics Day

None of my pulls came in this week so I decided to grab Villians United #1. Its pretty. And fairly witty with the banter and what not. But lets face it. Both the Society and the Secret Six are going to lose. Because thats what villians do. They lose. And thats why "bad guy" books never really last. Or even accomplish any real long-term character development. Because eventually the new, improved elite version of a bad guy is gonna have to job for somebody...

Plus, villians, even the suposedly super-genius ones, are fucking morons. Every single damned one of them. Because they have to be. 'Cause otherwise you end up with Empire where all the good guys are basically dead and you're left with a title that sells for shit, because most people don't want to invest emotionally in a bad guy...

*sigh*

I miss Suicide Squad...

Plus there are several scenes in the book where I just want to scream BULLSHIT. I mean the neither the "carrot" or the "stick" seem like workable motivations for Deadshot...
