New Comics Day
Jan. 19th, 2005 04:13 pmAnd the Happiest Day of the week is back. Sure its tainted by my having to get up early and go to a work meeting, but still...COMICS!!
First out of the gate is Firebreather: The Iron Saint. A one-shot with Duncan in England battling it out with a Druidic magic suit of dragon slaying armor. Firebreather should join Guardians of the Globe so I can see more of him. Or a new Teen Team.
Speaking of which (ta da a segueway!) its a new issue of Invincible which shows never trust a villian. Unless they go straight. Then you can trust them. 'Till they stab you in the back. But up untill then you can trust them with stuff.
Next up is Outsiders which is all about one thing. Getting Lian back from child slaver Tanner. Now Tanner has balls for swiping a heroes kid. Big brass ones. But this kid? Sure she's part of the Green Arrow family and her dad can get the JLA to babysit. But its the fact that her Mom is one of the deadliest assassins on the planet that makes it stupid. I mean, no surprise, they get the kid back and no one kills Tanner. Which I think was just mean. 'Cause eventually Cheshire is gonna find out what he did, escape from whever she's being held and kill his ass. Slowly. Research people, always do your research before fucking with a super heroes family.
My favorite part of the new issue of Powers is the first and last pages, which are supposed to be screen-shots from a discussion forum. So true to life and all that.
Oh and on the recomendation of, like, everybody I got the vol. 1 trade for Ex Machina. Haven't read it yet though...
