Ugh.  Sickness has moved from "head packed in snot" to "racking cough due to massive snot buildup" stage.

Anyway went on a bit of a spending spree today.  Only a couple pulls, but several things I just wanted.  First on the pull list was actually from last week.  G-Man, started as a backup strip in S. Dragon.  But Image is giving it a shot as a title on its own.  First half is a nice origin story, second half is reprints of the backup strips.  Good comic, it shares 2 traits with one of my other faves PS238, the kids in it act like kids and its funny.

Next Girl Genius finally came in.  Very nice issue, gorgeous Foglio art and colors and some kick-ass action sequences.  Yay for steam punky goodness...

The finale of KoDT: Illustrated came out.  I'm sad to see it go, but Plemmons and the Fraims end it well.  The Black Hands & the UT+1 and some great end jokes.  Even a nice circular nod to the start...

Finally off the pull list is the finale for Identity Crisis.  And there's one final twist before the denouement.  And I think its a pretty good one.  Then its just the wind down as everyone deals with the after effects of the murder and the revelations of the brain washing.  A couple people were annoyed that no one tells Bats he was messed with.  And I pointed out that its BatMan.  The most paranoid person on the planet.  You think he doesn't have a part of his schedule thats like: Tuesday 2pm.  Check brain and memories for signs of tampering.  Seriously, hes BATMAN...

I also picked up issues 2 and 3 of Brit another Kirkman title.  I had got #1 from a discount bin on Sunday and had to track down the rest of it.  The main character is an invulnrable gov't agent who works for the same people as Invincible (though characters from that only make a brief appearance as cameos.)  Good stuff, if a bit more MA than Invincible.

Then I got Castle Waiting: The Curse of Brambly Hedge.  CW was a great title self-published for awhile, then by Cartoon Books for awhile.  Its a medieval Earth setting where fantasy and fairy tales and folk tales are all real and mixed together.  If you like obscure folk/fairy tales this is a title you should track down.  This book is a retelling of the Briar Rose/Sleeping Beauty story.  Plus the arts fantastic...

And last I finally got convinced to pick up the first trade of another Kirkman title, The Walking Dead.  For all you zombie nuts out there:  BUY.  THIS.  BOOK.  It does not disappoint...
