Ok, so normally I'd be writing up my New Comics Day review. But in addition to todays comics I also got my order from Amazon today. And among it is The Dresden Dolls self titled album.

Glee!

I'm only up to tract 4 (Half Jack) and I'm loving it immensely. And "Coin Operated Boy" isn't even up yet (the reason I bought it).

This album is sooooooo sweet. Only two artists, the lead singer and pianist and a drummer. Very raw and emotional and luverly.

And a nice haul it is indeed this week.

First up we've got an ONTIME Rising Stars 23.  If the finale comes out in Jan. then JMS will only be what, 2 years late?  Anyway, a nice issue showing that villians even when they're a cabal of outlaw legislator/military leader types are still morons.  When setting a death trap for a group, COUNT THEM and make sure the entire group is there.  El Stupido...

Fables shows Beauty, Beast and Prince Charming working to adjust to their new jobs.  Plus the appearance of Bigby's dad.  Yup, this story arc looks to be a good'un.

100 Bullets continues with its mix of flash backs and flash forwards and maybe flash sidewaysis.  Still its always nice to see more added to Wylie.  Though I need to go back and check to see if there are any Minutemen who haven't been introduced yet...

PS238 has Tyler on his first training weekend with The Revenant.  I've loved the Revenant since Stackpole's short story in Superheroes.  And Tyler of course is the coolest kid at the school.  Plus the bit about plastic surgery explains a lot about the spandex types...

Powers starts up a new story arc.  Starts with Pilgrim giving the new Retro Girl some post-fight advice and then moves into a new superhero murder.  With Deena's new secret powers and the decision by the heroic types to break the law against any powers.  Some nice stuff as always.

I also got 2 trades today.  One in the mail from Amazon in the mail, the other at Samurai.  The first is Boneyard vol 3.  I love Richard Moore's art.  Plus its got the goofy yet sexy swimsuit issue.  And another demonic villian is revealed.  You know if I were an ancient evil that wanted a piece of property I'd do a better job of not letting people know.

The second trade is vol 4 of Y: The Last Man.  This is probably one of Vertigo's best ongoing titles.  But I just can't bring myself to start picking up the individual issues.  Just too easy to get the trades I guess.
