Book shopping
Aug. 29th, 2004 07:04 pmSo I go out into the wild streets of Phoenix to get a birthday card for my Mom. And while I'm out I figure I'll grab a paperback or two for myself. 1st stop the closest Borders store location. And they've changed the whole interior layout. They've put some chairs back in and added tables at various places. And about 5 entire 5' book shelves of Manga tpb. And everyone of the scifi paperbacks I look at is 8-9 dollars. NINE DOLLARS. So screw that, I'll go over to Bookstar, see whats on sale, maybe sign up for the discount card if I have to.
And the EXACT same paperbacks are seven bucks each there. So I grab the latest by Joel Rosenberg and the 2nd book to that apolyptic invasion scifi/horror series by Knight I tried out a while back. And a birthday card.
But I'm wondering why the hell Borders decided to JACK UP the cover price of their paperbacks.
