Hell- I'm still amazed that the only reason I don't worry about Peter being overpowered is that he's so phenomenally stupid to actually use his powers.
You mean the villains? Or Bridget Bailey, who was introduced into the show from the comics only to be a meal for Sylar?
Even with Jesse and Knox caught and Flint and The German dead... that still leaves a goodly eight villains - at least -running loose. Not counting potential wild cards like Elle, Claire, any future Hiros that show up....
Besides, wasn't the big complaint last year that they kept introducing characters we were supposed to care about and adding onto the cast, bloating the show and slowing it down?
Was she the psychosometric that MamaPatrelli fed to Sylar? Didn't know she was from somewhere else, since I gave up on trying to follow the online comic...
But mostly I meant Frank Capra's Jesse. He had like TWO scenes where he wasn't Peter/Jesse. They hyped him and The German in all the pre-show releases and then did NOTHING with either. Plus they had a chance to team Capra and Bell up again as a VR reunion and just flushed that away. I'm just annoyed with the writers (and given that one is Loeb thats no shock) right now...
And I never saw Veronica Mars (I know, I know... despite my mad crush on Kristen Bell, I have yet to find the time!)... but it is possible that the scripts were done BEFORE the casting. That usually is the standard. And writers - unless they are an executive producer - have no power over casting decisions. So a VM alumni winding up in a part is likely coincidental.
As for Loeb being one of the writers... well, I actually like some of his work (Long Halloween IS a good Batman story) and the HEROES scripts he was the main writer on were some of the best. It hasn't helped his reputation though, that all of those episodes had a main female character die in them.
IMO the chapter title of 'Villians' doesn't just refer to the escapees and obviously evil characters. It is an overall theme that they are going to be playing with the moral compasses of all the "Heroes" too.

But at least HRG & Sylar make an awesome team...

And they certainly made a big deal about Jesse's powers.
And no need to worry about Future Hiros, this one is doing just fine messing things up himself.
