There isn't much to say about this. Beyond that Kurt Russell has always been underappreciated as an actor. He brings out the character of coach Herb Brooks to perfection. Though his affected Northern Minnesota accent to slip at times. But beyond that, this is one of those classic sports underdog stories. The USA vs. the Russian juggernaut, showing that some movie cliches exist for a reason...
