So Akiko must lead her band of companions (the space-pirate Spuckler, Spuckler's robot Gax, the academic Mr. Beeba and an enigmatic floating alien named Poog) across the world to the palace of Alia Rellapor...

Akiko doesn't seem to have any special powers or skills or magical McGuffins to help her. Just her own bravery and wit and the loyalty and courage of her friends. Crilley's art works to evoke the strange monsters and enemies Akiko and the others face. As well as the vast terrain they must cover. Plus: robot in a fur-lined coat. Thats just adorable...
