Scanner Darkly

Bob Acturo (Keanu Reeves) is some kind of Drug Enforcement cop working undercover. Who, since he works under a blur suit that hides his identity when reporting in, is assigned to investigate drug user Bob Acturo. This movie is probably the best adaptation of a Philip K. Dick story I've seen. Unlike Bladerunner or Total Recall its not just loosely based on the original. It adapts the story pretty closely. Which is good, since Scanner is Dick's most personal story. Plus I like the rotoscoped animation thing they use. Adds a nice touch of surrealism to it. Especially the opening sequence with Freck and the bugs...

Fun with international copyright

Ok, from what I can tell, mightygodking was suspended, not for the HP recap/review, but for his improved_archie community. He's apparently looking for a Canadian hosted service to switch to, so that he won't have to worry about differing copyright laws. Still somewhat odd that it happens within days of the whole HP thing (his recap was written using a downloaded copy)...

Still this is the 2nd journal I follow where LJ Abuse has permabanned someone I follow. Though at least it seems they have better reason than back with alexlucard
