Every day I game with Kyle I want a gm to kill his twink characters more and more. Instead what does Dan do? Lets the dice fall where they may and rewards him with an MAGIC, INTELLIGENT no-dachi (Japanese two-hander). First he allows for a 10% chance of a sword result being a Samurai weapon and then has it come up a two-hander. After FINALLY several weeks ago managing to destroy the magic no-dachi Kyle had gotten by selling Gagwaller tech.
And then to add further to making the rest of us useless in combat Kyle gets a RING OF FUCKING HEFTY FUCKING DAMAGE! For those unfamiliar with HackMaster this ring guarentees that a weapons damage roll will be at a MINIMUM double the max roll. But HackMaster has penetrating dice for damage (example: on a d6 roll a 6 is re-rolled, and that number -1 is added to the total). So damage is still rolled just to check for penetration. But now Kyle's damned Half-ogre Samurai does a minimum FORTY TO FIFTY points a hit on most targets with his no-dachi. HIS MAGIC, INTELLIGENT NO-FUCKING-DACHI!
Between this and Jane's Dagger of Blender Setting: Quisinart in the 2e game, I'm wondering why I'm bothering...
It also doesn't help that in my Sunday game Noah's letting Kyle run a Halfling Fighter (Beast-rider) with a GODS DAMNED SABRE-TOOTH TIGER! Which he rides around the fucking streets of GreyHawk with nary a care! Why is everyone letting him get away with this shit? I learned my lesson when I let Kyle take martial arts skills for twinked out battle mage. Kyle needs to be told no. And frequently. Or he'll run roughshod over shit.
