Pieces of April

First this movie is apparantly shot entirely using regular light. Not movie lights. Which makes it look, well washed out. And its slow. Very, very slow. Still for a movie with as many uncomfortable pauses as this one it manages to end on an oddly upbeat and happy ending. Plus Katie Holmes beats up Jack from Will & Grace. So thats a plus...

Sanjuro

I'm not sure if For a Few Dollars More is based on this, the same way Fistfull is based on Yojimbo. Mostly because I'm can't really recall if I've ever actually SEEN the second movie. Still, this is another good movie from the Kurosawa/Mifune team. I especially liked the sequences with closet prisoner...
